Hello and welcome! Dave Cyphert is a northwestern Pennsylvania native from the small university town of Clarion, situated about 90 miles north of Pittsburgh.
As a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, I honorably served the majority of four years active duty in the mid 80s onboard the USS Comte DeGrasse (DD-974), a Spruance Class Destroyer based in Norfolk, VA...(incidentally where I purchased my very first SLR film camera from the ship's store...YES....before digital).
Actually the interest in photography started back in 9th grade of high school when one day my Art teacher, Mr. Sykes brought his SLR camera to school. It wasn't until I joined the Navy where my photography interests accelerated and played an integral role in my duties as an Electronic Warfare Technician. In conjunction with the operation and maintenance of a threat warning receiver system at sea, my responsibility was to simultaneously detect and disseminate weapons systems and associated radar platforms. Through countless at-sea exercises and two major six month deployments to the Persian Gulf and Mediterranean Sea, I had multiple opportunities to hone my camera skills.
In 1996, nine years after leaving military service and starting a family, I never really lost my love for photography and art, so I established ProPoint Media Photography. I set out to model my craft that separated me from others, which has evolved through the years to bring over-the-top designs to area athletes, schools and youth organizations. I wanted to capture every moment of both of my son's adventure into youth sports, especially those Little League playing days. Today, I focus on high school and organized sports, Senior & Family as well as pet portraiture. Early in 2020 I added Open-Air Photo Booth services for wedding, parties and VIP events.
If you're interested in setting up a photo session or just have questions about an upcoming event or project, feel free to send me a message, I'd love to hear from you!
